it might be a stupid question but i dont care.

Re: 14b wastegate setting
it is a stupid question, stupid.
but,, you can't get new springs. you can extend the actuator arm, but not put in a new spring. |

you *can* replace the spring but its waaay more trouble than it's worth. I've heard of crusing BOV's but never wastegates. |
Re: 14b wastegate setting
ok,ok it was pretty stupid but im just looking for a way to lower the setting,
and how do go about extending the actuator arm? |
Re: 14b wastegate setting
Stock setting is ~8 psi, I wouldn't ever want to go lower than that on that little turbo.
|
Re: 14b wastegate setting
the idiot i bought it from said it was gated at 11 1/2 psi.
|
Re: 14b wastegate setting
Nope, wastegate is set at 8 psi. DSMs have a solenoid that raises the boost.

Re: 14b wastegate setting
alright thanks for the info.
and making me feel stupid. |
Re: 14b wastegate setting
my wastegate on my dsm opens at 10 psi. it's been that way ever since i put it on my car. i thought my boost gauge was reading wrong but when i got it tuned the map was reading 10. ???
