Re: 14B vs. T25: lag
Sorry that Ford don't rev as hard as your precious Honduhs. And I drive carefully because this is my only means of transportation, and I don't want it to be fucked up while I'm at college, a looooooong *** walk from home.

Re: 14B vs. T25: lag
I have a small *** IHI RHB5 on my SOHC Saturd and it's just about right. Then again, the factory fuel cut is at 5600, but it is still pulling like a train at the limit. As far as I can tell, my IHI is about the same size (or smaller) than a 14G.
I say rock that cheap bitch. Drive it. If you don't like it, get a bigger one later. All the hard ---- will be done by then anyway. You will already have the oil lines, fuel ----, and all the other 'tronic crap like WBO2. Also, if you pick your terbos carefully, you will be able to keep the same manifold and downpipe. Do all Mitsu terds use the same flange?
My ---- came off a 88 Thunderbird. Lucky me, a T3 Super 60, or any other Ford T3, will bolt right to my manifold and downpipe. That means I can rock the free IHI bitch 'till I kill it or it chuck it in the dumpster. Then, I move on to a bigger terd without much trouble at all. Or money. Cheapness through planning.

That's exactly what I plan to do. I can get a used Zetec motor for around $600 and once I this one boosted, I might buy a new motor, and build it, planning for a much bigger turbo.

Re: 14B vs. T25: lag
Try looking into getting an evo3 7cm^2 exhaust housing for the 14b...it'll bolt right on. I have the 7cm housing on my b16, and even though it's still 1.6 liters it does move a bit of exhaust. I usually hit my boost threshold at 3k rpms and it'll pull right up to 8200 rock steady.
