14b turbo, broken wastegate actuator arm, assistance needed!

Hey all, I broke my stock 14b wastegate actuator arm. Couple questions...

If I drive the car w/out the wastegate actuator will this overspool the turbo?

Where can I find a replacement wastegate actuator (locally/online)

I have heard it is possible to use a carb spring as a ghetto but functional replacement, how is this done? Found it in the FAQ

If you broke the wg actuator arm your turbo will not spool, and no harm will be done. Your car just won't boost.

Depends on what type of turbo you have. You can make just about any internal wastegate actuator fit, it just takes a little thinking. Or you might be able to find a stock one here in the classifieds or put up a wtb.

Sheeit I use a mad JDM combination of wg actuator AND a spring. This is HMT. Learn how we do ----.

So what turbo is it?

Ok that makes sense, took me a minute. You know how it gets when you have a problem, your mind goes a mile a minute

Anyways, it's a 14b..can't believe I forgot to mention that.

My setup is pretty HMT, just haven't got on here much to post

Post up a thread in wtb, you can get a 14b actuator for $20-30

Is it true the 16g actuator will work as well?

I don't know if it will bolt up, but I do know that I can make it work.

my buddy coreyR has a working 14b actuator arm we just took off last night in favor of a external wg. ill ask him what he wants for it tomorrow since were goign to the track to put his sohc hatch in the 12s.
