14b or t3 turbo need help to decide

ok i have a pretty stock zc single cam non vtec that i want to boost and try to hit atleast 13 second passes in my crx. well anyway my homie has a spare 14b with no in and out or side to side shaft play spins good for 80 bucks it looks pretty good. and i have done my search and the 14b looks like my choice my goals are to take my stock motor to atleast 200-225 hp on stock internals. but im always seeing that a t3 is the way to go also anyway i just want a turbo that can take me all the way to 7200 rpms spools around maybe 3800 since its my daily driver. well anyway should i just get the 14b since its cheap

a 14b will work fine for your zc, for 80.00 for a tight turbo you cant go wrong.

well cuz everybody usually says if you want more boost its better to get a t3. after my 14b set-up i plan a t3/t4 57 trim 63 a.r

What is your goal for your car? Drag, Autocross or just D/D? For drag, I would consider the t3. For anything else I would go with the 14b. I've had both and the quick spool of the 14b will surely satisfy.

Not a single person has even offered the idea that there are different T3 sizes. :1

There is nothing wrong with a 14b that is flawless for $80.

IMO go with something a little larger.

oh i have read im just looking for any t3 owners that can share a success story of using a t3. im just looking for feedback because after my hmt build ill start on my more serious goal of 350hp using a t3/t4 57 trim 63. and a built a6 block. so this is just temp thing just want to get the feel of boost before i go bigger.

if you do the 14 B, then you will no longer be able to switch to t3/t04E using the same manifold.

Re: 14b or t3 turbo need help to decide

thats not a problem im doing this set-up first to give me time to save some money to buy a ram horn manifold or a log type and start from there this is just to get my car quiker and cheaper now so i can spend the real doe on my other project after this.

T3 42/48, they can be had for dirt cheap too. There are couple in the classifieds for under $150
