is it ok to run a 14b without using coolant through it?? Totaly just leaving the bolts out and not plugging it with anything

and im not talking about going out and running a 100 runs at the track with this, just to start up my car and rev it up, maybe to a pull or two to make sure everything is running properly.

let the turbo warm up properly before boosting and cool down for a while before turning the car off.

 

I don't run the water lines nor do I plug them and my turbo is fine. I don't know anyone that watercools there turbo anyways.

 

^^^^ haha, cool.. thnkas for the info guys ... i still plan on running the water just to help the turbo last a little longer ... the hour or work is worth it, but at this point i dont have the parts and i need t move the car outa the driveway and ---- ... lol

 

I water cool my 14b. I just use coolant line to a SSBraid from my factory oil cooler on my block.

 

Its easy just use the coolant lines going to and from the TB, you don't want them there anyway

 

So then the point of this whole thread is.....

 

what are the side effects of not having fluid to the TB. also, do you have any pisc? im looking to water cool my 14b and wanted to see who did what as well.
