12 second Ford Tarus *PICS* No 56K
Well here's the Ford Tarus SHO that I've been talking about. This is the new setup we have on the car. This is my buddy's car he is truely has the attitude "I don't give a ---- what it looks like as long as its fast.
The car doesn't look fast at all, you can't even see the front mount on it so its the best sleeper around. Nobody expects this thing to be fast and we usually kick the ---- out of the competition with it.
The turbo is a T04E with a v-band discharge exhaust. Its running a full 4 inch downpipe with 4 inch exhaust. We don't buy mandrel bend but instead we make them by cutting the pipes at angles and welding them together. The air filter is right near the tire running through the fender, there was no room to fit it under the hood.
This is the timeslip from the OLD setup with a grand national turbo running 11psi. Notice the Really low mph for a heavy *** car? Yeah he lifted after the 1000ft mark and coasted across the line and STILL managed to do a 12.7. With this T04E its 100 times faster than the old setup so we're definitely aiming for an 11 second run and its very possible if everything holds together
**UPDATE** This setup just ran a 12.5 @ 112 on street tires. We only got 2 runs in cause of bad weather. Going to the track next weekend to try again.
My camera got fucked up so I couldn't get too many pictures but this gives you an idea of the type of weight reduction we did to the car. A couple cases of beer and a plasma cutter did wonders. The rear window is full lexan
This is the axle after last night's street races. The people at National Auto are a little pissed that they gave us a lifetime warranty on axles.
Well now here's the mod list:
-3.2L V6 DOHC Yamaha motor, stock bottom end
-TO4E turbo 1.32 turbine with a split tangential housing and V-bad discharge, .70 compressor
-4 inch custom cat back exhaust
-Ported and polished heads, 5 angle valve job and custom ground race cams
-Quaife LSD
-6 puck unsprung clutch
-Remapped ecu, AFC, 50lb/hr injectors, walboro fuel pump
-upgraded MAF (forget what size)
-NOS direct port (its off the car now, we melted way too much ---- ------- around with it. When we get pistons it'll go back on)
Well now all you non-believers can go pound sand In less than a month the track will be open and I can update with the newest time. Any questions or comments just ask...

Whitey,
It is GREAT to see more people fooling around with FI on the SHO. Until a fellow www.superhighoutput.com forum member posted a link to this thread, I was only aware of one (yes, as in UNO) running turbo SHO. Many are in the works, but really, who knows how many will actually run right Are you familiar with the term SHOBOOM?
I hope you can take the time to register and start posting at a few SHO specific forums:
I am a moderator at http://www.superhighoutput.com/ forums,
and a member at http://www.shoforum.com/ forums.
I am sure a LOT of people will be interested in your sweet sweet ride
later~
