Default 10:1 Compression, Too High to Turbo?

I got a Ford Probe with a 2.5 klze in it, everyone on the probe forums seem to think its too high of compression and would blow.

Has anyone Done it ( homemade style) successfully, what psi did it hold, how long did it last

That seems ok....my B16 is up in the 10.1 somethin like that and will hold 10 psi with a tune....
you should be good

I never fucked with a probe b4 though so Im not too sure

You should be fine. It just lies in the tune. Look at the compression ratios of alot of honda engines that people boost with good results.

i've been DD'ing a y7/y8 mini me (10:1 compression) with a wrx turbo at 10lbs self tuned for 2 years now. i do have some detonation issues though and have had to pull more timing than normal.

its definitly doable and with a great tune would be minty. with a self tune you might run into life-term issues after a while. i just need to survive long enough to get some vitara's in :-P

What exactly do they say will "blow" on the engine? The headgasket? Pistons? Things break for a reason. Tune plays into it alot. Detonation and spikes in cylinder pressures "blow" engines. Avoid both with proper intercooling and fuel/ignition tuning.

Well as ive been reading they say theres no chips or anything for the probe gt, there is a chip but its not tuneable

so as for fuel i would have to get some kind of fmu, fuel pump, and i guess injectors
