Yes, it is a blast to drive. 3500RPM's is crazy.

 

Holy crap, talk about torque.. I would have never thought a stock escort engine could make that kinda power reliably. Nice dyno, Nice setup.. Definatly something you wouldnt suspect from a car like that.

 

A lot of people are surprised the stock internals of a little old escort can take some power. But this family of motor's have been factory boosted, in the US in 1984-85 EXP/GT's and in the UK for many years, the Escort RS-T.

I've been boosting the crap out of these motor's for about 2 years now. So far the only problem I have had was a timing belt tentioner comeing loose at 5000RPM's while at about 8psi allowing the valve to kiss the piston, beside that these little motors just keep on going.

Damn! I've been tryin to find someone that has turboed an escort for the longest time My g/f has a 91lx that she wants me to boost for her, so if she says do it, i'm all for it...PM sent to ya

 

Hmm, my neighbor has that EXACT SAME engine in his escort.. he said he'd sell the car next year for cheap, $1000 or so, and its only 92k miles... the possibilities..
