Despite of all the bad hype that I've heard lately about the IHI's, I would suggest you go with an IHI turbo.
You can either get an older one off a Subaru XT (IHI RHB5), or off a newer Mazda Mx-6, or Ford Probe GT ('89-92). These turbo's are pretty cheap, and from what I've seen they're usually in better condition than all of the AirResearch/Garret Turbo's.

The beauty of the IHI is that it spools up incredibly fast, and in my opinion it's a perfect setup for a smaller honda engine... I'm using one on my D16Z6, and it's got more than plenty of guts, although it's not really tuned to perfection yet.

What do other people think of this suggestion?

I have a 68mm throttle body on my 1.5 and it works great. Also, I have a T3 super 60 and it works great also.

As for fuel management I would suggest Hondata as the best, and an AFC as second best. 450cc injectors and maybe a 255 pump.

Even if you deside to go with the B16 you will still need to have a sturdy setup for running boost even though the B16 is stronger. 140,000 miles is nothing for a D series. I have many thousand boosted miles on my 101,000+ mile motor. I drive my car like I stole it and never take it easy. Redline is my home and I like it there. If and when I blow this motor up I will most likely buy another D series and build it right. Cheap parts and great reliability.

Did I get off topic there or what? :P

I am using an internal 5-6psi(I believe) and a Turboxs manual boost controller bumping it up to around 10 psi. I have a boostcoolers wannabe Spearco front mount.

Do not buy from that ebay seller. Check his feedback. His products are ---- and he is an ***. Those manifolds look great, but they don't fit right and if something is wrong you won't get any customer support from him. Just a bunch of insults and ----. Look around first.

lol, sounds like my herpes
OMG!!!?

??5-6 psi? I hit that at about 3500. I'm at 10psi by about 4200 I think. It's been a while.

You will need to take your car into a Hondata dealer to tune it. You can't just order it and install it. I'm not sure if they sell the full kit that you can tune with a laptop anymore. It's pretty expensive though. Go to www.Hondata.com and search for a tuner in your area.
