~~~UPDATE~~~~~MY B18 BIG BLACK PROJECT........ 56k NO WAY!!!!!

Well I have been putting parts together for a while now and thing are falling inline. Got my block back from the shop a few weeks ago.......
here is the set up. B18a 81.5 bore/hone, and balanced wiseco pistons -12cc dish TT rods Skank 2 valve springs LSD clutch H1C 12cm egay wg arp head studs ford 600cc injectors..... and so on Attachment 17324 Attachment 17325 Attachment 17326 Attachment 17327 Attachment 17328 Attachment 17329 Attachment 17330 Attachment 17331 Attachment 17332 Attachment 17333 Attachment 17334 Attachment 17335 Attachment 17336 now im just wating on my bearings from majestic. I was gona use the acl's but it was too much money/work. UPDATES Well got the bearings in and they all fit very well and all fell into specs. SO now I hade to hone the small end of the TT rods to get my pison pins to fit. Attachment 17337 brake hone to the rescue!!!!!! Attachment 17338 It was a tight fit. Attachment 17339 mounted the drill in the vice with the hone in the drill chuck and got to work. I did it a few differant times to make sure that I didnt get in there and just hog the ---- out of it. Attachment 17340 Attachment 17341 Attachment 17342 Now that the lower end was done it was time to move onto the head. Went to napa and picked up some laping compound Attachment 17343 Pulled the head out and stripped it clean of all the valve train Attachment 17344 Lapping this ---- by hand was gay as ----. Attachment 17345 So the I took the lapper and put it on the grinder and tried to make it as round as possable to fit in my drill Attachment 17346 Attachment 17347 Then I lapped the ever loving ---- out of them!!!!!!!!! Attachment 17348 turned out pretty good SO I put the spring seats back in and drove on the new valve stem seals. Pulled out my skank 2 valve springs Thanks 88DX Attachment 17349 Side by side the skank 2's are so much beafer than the stock its not even funny. Attachment 17350 the head went back together good Attachment 17351 so it was time for a fresh coat of paint Attachment 17352 Looks way to much like mexi crome Attachment 17353 So I striped it back down to repaint it a differnt color. While I was wating for it to dry I checked out the oil pump and it is as tight as new so I painted it Attachment 17354 and threw it on Attachment 17355 I put the head studs in and now I need to go to the store and pick up some non mexi paint Attachment 17356 |

ACL's are too much work? You drop them in, if the crank spins you're good to go!
Other than that comment, looks sweet. You have springs, buying cams later? |

Well my las build was within spec, but this motor had 185k when I got it and I think it was a little loose. |

Did you just rattlecan the block cause that looks really good. What kind of manifold are you bolting that holset to?

The holset is gona get bolted up to the good old hmt top mount stock mani, elephant style!!!!!!!!!! |

Id try to score some used crowers or jg cams, ull probably have better luck getting it to idle normal.

the first set i had was their "turbo grind" and it had a decent idle, the 2nd time i told them the spec of JG 404's and they idled like a SBC :1 I got a vtak head this year.

The pistons were 420 shipped with the rings locks and pins!!!! To balance the whole rotating assembly(p.plate to the pully), bore, hone, deck the block, gap the rings and clean the block it was $330. DG Machine FTW!!!!!!!! Dale Green is the ------- man when it comes to machine work. I like the way you painted it, it's pimp :y |

NW meet sounds good. I think it should be a whole weekend meet. Spend a saturday ------- around at the track, and then sunday crusing to somewhere to get some grub and rape the streets with hmt!!!!!!

something is fucked up with the clutch that I got from LSD???? The sprung center section from the p.plate hits the clutch disk and it wonte let my cluth disingage/engage??? It looks like ass with the beatup valve cover but I have another that im gona get powdercoated so it will then look nice. It looks like mike at LSD is sending out my new disk on tuesday......... so while I have everything apart im finishing weilding up my trac. bars and moving the battery to the trunk. Im just wating on a few things I have orderd to come in so I can finish my turbo setup.

It must be the a nothwest thing..... I did my second hmt install in jeffs driveway I was out driving my car while Dave was tuning it. Then Jeff got arrested.....lol
