I have been working on cars since I was young also. It has been my life for too many years now. All I can say is GLOVES DON"T HELP. Gloves are nothing more then a pain device when things go wrong. Yes I have cuts on all my fingers but at least I still have all of them!

Eh, I was welding at 8, Dave. I think you need to calm down and take a tall salty glass of perspective - kids that age break a lot of bones, which hurts a lot worse than a little burn. So, for the record, if you wouldn't let your kids weld you sure as hell won't let them move faster than a walk, or play?
