Default Welder not welding. Help!

So I've got an old *** Snap-On FM140A MIG welder.

I was futzing around in the garage just now and it just stopped arcing. Wire was feeding fine, and everything. I turned the machine off and it worked again for a couple seconds then stopped.

I dunno WTF. Where should I start?

P.S. It didnt overheat or anything I dont think. I maybe used it a full minute before it messed up. Never had problems with it before

Check the ground. The connection at both ends.

I checked it but will double check tomorrow and clean all the connections and re-do 'em. Hopefully it's something simple like that. I'll report back. Thanks

Good news is if it works (even temporarily) after dying, then you have a loose connection and it's fixable. As opposed to completely FUBAR and needs to be taken somewhere else.

Just unplug it before you crack the cover, okay?
