VIDEO- Cutting collector piece with a chop saw

OK so I decided to chop up some more collector pieces tonight.

I have seen some insanely over-complicated solutions to this, so maybe this will help some folks.

I do this on my uber-badass dry cut saw that I more-or-less want to have sex with every time i touch it, but the concept should work for a regularabrasive saw.

Also I sound extra hilariously Canadian on video, it's like Bob and Doug Mackenzie teaching fabricating...

This was pretty fun to do- and WAY more helpful/interesting than some pics I think.

I need to clear off the memory card so i can do some other demos.

Enjoy!

Edit- hm, I'm not sure how video embedding works here or if we cna do it... maybe just tyr the link... sorry guys...

You really do sound extra Canadian in that video, props from a fellow canuck.

What saw is that, it cuts really clean.

Haha yeah, I live in Vancouver now but I grew up way in the North, so my accent is strong I think.

I pay about $120 for blades, it's a bit scary since a mistake could be expensive.

However, the cool thing is you can have a blade re-sharpened for about $20 and you can re-sharpen them several times, so it isn't too bad.

Nice, I guess Canadians are good for something...lol jk, thanks for posting...I know my harbor freight chop saw blade will tend to flex/walk a little I guess that what you get for a cheap saw...I might try a few and see how they come out...

i vote more vids, just cuz the accent is funny.

you should really lay the canuck on thick.
