Lastly, it takes a total of 5 minutes to clean the flange on a belt sander... you can really rape the side your welding on because you can afford to have that side a little uneven if your going to weld on it and seal it up anyways. The Stainless Flanges are $38 shipped.

As far as the piping goes, sched 40 really is overkill, just spend the time doing the sched 10 right and you wont have any problems.
