totally could be, the metal was pretty warm by then too. Plus i have no pedal so it makes it a bit harder but I'm not worried. I think I'll turn it down to about 65-70.

I just remembered that the stick out should ideally change with the type of weld you are doing. I think that butt and corner welds were supposed to be 1/8" but with a fillet weld you could use 1/4"

good to know, I'll make sure to keep it around 1/8th

hell yea, I'm stoked that you guys could help me figure it out. Theres nothing more frustrating then trying to figure a problem out flyin solo.
