cool thanks. yeah i bought a tap and die set from sears a while ago but this is bigger than any of the stuff they had.
the head of the egr bolt is a 24 or 25mm.

what the hell are you working on that has a bolt that big? i think the biggest egr bolt i have seen is 12mm. are you talking about a tube that screws into the manifold?

if you are, then you will have a pretty tough time finding it

Some of those egr fittings are ------- huge if I remember. I remember getting off a manifold on a turbo probe and I had to us a pipe wrench cause it's massive.

there is a difference in a bolt and a fitting. i have a feeling that he doesnt realize that. getting a tap with fine threads but with that diameter will be hard. you are better off making something

yeah its the FITTING that goes into the exhaust manifold. always thought that was the EGR.
anyways. i brought my car into this exhaust place a while ago and the guy took my 4-2-1 trd
header and finished tapping out the threading for that fitting/egr that TRD had done a crappy job of doing in the
first place. it was perfect size too. maybe i should just go back to him and ask to borrow his.

it might be the EGR, what i was getting at is that it is a fitting and not a bolt. (in a truly nice and non *** like way) there is a difference. thread pitch for a fitting of that size is nowhere close to any bolt that might be the right size. thats why i say getting a tap will be tough. im not surprised that an exhaust shop has one and who knows, they might let you use it in the parking lot, or let you take it with a deposit
