Well I have to wait for some parts for my car before i can work on it and i got bored so i decided to build some things with spare parts.

I forgot to put the 25shot jet in so right now its just free flowing through the fogger. I just used some spare parts i had laying around. Alcohol Bottle, Hose cap, airline hose, winshield washer pump, vacuum line, and the nos fogger, and battery.

After i got done with that i ruined the alcohol bottle so i decided to make a stove. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bZxBZ5lF2hA
3 pepsi cans, Isopropyl Alcohol, and some tape. Pretty nifty. I made one before the right size and it worked perfectly but i tried to make it taller and i got a huge flame . You can check it out and let me know what you guys think.

Well that's great. Don't use that on the car! Never use isopropyl alcohol in a gas engine.
Unlike methyl, or ethyl alcohol. Isopropyl alcohol is the only one of the three most common types that will burn at all in a gasoline dominated enviornment. In the process it uses up alot of oxygen that could be used to combust gasoline, which makes many times the power. What happens is that the introduction of isopropyl alcohol can make the effective mixture run uncontrollably rich very easily. And obviously in the process loose alot of power if there is any descent amount of alcohol injected.
The correct alcohol to mix with water (to lower the freezing point), or to just straight inject is ethyl alcohol. All the benifits of methyl, without the drawbacks in being highly caustic, and highly destructive to aluminum parts.

See i was thinking why not run it in an engine. I did a wiki on the three and did a comparison. Isopropyl alcohol has the chemical compound C3 H8 O.. so break it up like C3H80 = c3h7-oh .. which is like propane and alcohol. when propane burns it turns into water and carbon dioxide. and ud have the oxygen and hydrogen to mix with the gas and air and create more power. Yes it would run rich, becaues your adding alcohol. I did see that it reacts with aluminum i figure it would proly just clean it if anything because it not touching it for a very long time, just cant store it in aluminum.

So if the isopropyl is using up the oxygen then how could it run rich. im assuming your talking about the a:f mixture after it burns?

obvisouly ether burns better then propane.. but still. What am i doing wrong here.. havent done chemistry in a while.

he means the alcohol will burn instead of the gas, leaving alot of leftover gas, thus being rich.

Many of the "through hikers" on the Appalachian trail use alcohol stoves similar to yours because they're lightweight, alcohol is easy to come by, and the stoves are lightweight and cheap. Keep up the good work, although next time explosives would be a nice touch.
