Some Stuff i made for a friend
nothing real special. i need to buy my own welder, all i had access to was a fluxcore. everything done with a hobart 140 with flux wire.
3" a/c capatible DP w/flex http://www.artfunction.com/rebuild2006/dp.jpg wastegate elbow for his revhard manifold http://www.artfunction.com/rebuild2006/elbow.jpg wategate dumptube http://www.artfunction.com/rebuild2006/dump.jpg and a couple close up pics of the welds. i was pretty happy with how they came out for fluxcore, i just wish i could have borrowed my buddy's mig to do all this. but for flux, i think its pretty good http://www.artfunction.com/rebuild2006/weld1.jpg http://www.artfunction.com/rebuild2006/weld.jpg and or course, signed by me http://www.artfunction.com/rebuild2006/sig.jpg you know you all love the flux madness |
Re: Some Stuff i made for a friend
thats def hot, i wish my flux hotness came out looking that good, i need to practice

Re: Some Stuff i made for a friend
Looks good.
Wrap pieces in loads of tin foil & it'll keep splatter off of it. One sheet won't help... The molten metal just blows through it, but it's all cool if you wrap a few layers. |
Re: Some Stuff i made for a friend
Ya tin foil is a good Idea, too bad I don't flux core anymore!
|
Re: Some Stuff i made for a friend
Nice work! :y
Mind if I ask where ya go the two-bolt flange for the end of the downpipe? All I'm able to find locally is the three-bolt style for a header collector, and my fluxbeads are too tall.. they interfere with the bolt positioning on those flanges. :l Edit: I looked around on ebay for about 10 seconds and found 'em. :1 Colin |
Re: Some Stuff i made for a friend
han ha. i didnt supply the flange anyway, my buddy did. i also welded it on the inside totally on the end of the flange, just did a nice tight bead on the inside and it was good to go. the kid i made everything for LOVES it. and hopefully will have a 400 whp B17 with p/s, a/c, and cruise!
