we finished the truck tonight, and of course it was ------- wet outside. we took it for a ride anyways just to make sure everything worked and we got a little digi cam video of a driveby. josh will post them up in a few

Not to sound like an ***, but why would he have to go with a 4 link setup if a Ford 9" was used? Why not weld on some leaf spring perches and be done with it?
I'd say go with a 12 bolt but the 9' has some distinct advantages.
The main housing is formed steel so you can weld anything you wnat to the housing.
The drop out center section makes gear set changes a snap.
No fooling around with the carrier shim packs like on the GM corperate and Dana style housings. The 9" uses threaded adjusters (the GM 14 bolt FF also does) that are soo much easier to setup.
Rediculously large Aftermarket support.
With all that said, in all honesty with a leaf spring setup in a pickup you probably won't be able to hook hard enough to even break a properly built GM 8.5" 10 bolt rearend.
Just my $0.02.
That setup looks pretty nice and the truck sounds great. Not a fan of remote mount turbos, but hey they work and the underhood space in limited even with the 4.3.
