Shaving down compressor housing flange?
Just bought this turbo from crx2211 and I am wondering if anyone has ever tried to shave the compressor discharge flange down so its round and just running a coupler on it....maybe grind it as smooth as possible then weld a tig bead around the end?

Re: Shaving down compressor housing flange?
ive seen it done before but they just cut that flange off and then welded another 2inches or aluminum tubing on it

Re: Shaving down compressor housing flange?
you can also buy an extension for it that screws into the outlet and gives room to clamp a coupler down. I have teh same outlet on my turbo and thats what i used... i think they may have been from ford thunderbirds?

I also just run the stock outlet. They are on eBay, or you can get them if you buy a turbo complete

Re: Shaving down compressor housing flange?
I used a 35/38mm wastegate flange ;) I slotted the wholes on the side and it works like a charm...easiest way other then getting the correct flange cut... O0
