Re: rhd conversion is underway (run 56k, run!

the four door is up and running, basically all i need is to get the winsheild installed, which im doing in the morning. these pics are not really all that, i promise more. better pics soon

btw, about that third brake light issue, it was just a blown bulb, im a dumb ass. i did all the eletrical stuff today.

for my setup i used the jdm front chassis harness, dash harness (same as usdm), and a/c harness. i used my usdm rear chassis harness and engine harness. i reused my front door harnesses, i just swapped them left to right. i re used my window switches. the pass window switch fit perfect and bolts up in the left door. the driver side switch fits in the right door but doesnt bolt up. the rear doors remain untouched. i simply removed the entire rear harness and flipped it and dropped it back in. this harness is the ONLY difenence in wiring between a 2 door and 4 door teg. because i used the jdm front and us rear, i had to move the fuel pump pin to a diff location. i think i have to move some of the rear speaker wire pins as well. i got everything working, except for the reverse lights...ill tackle thoes tommorow. then i took apart the engine harness and extended it and shortened as needed.

in short, today i:
took apart and extended the engine harness
moved the fuel pump wire to the right location on the rear harness
switched the turn signal wires on the rear harness
extended the sunroof and dome light wires
rewired the front turn signal/ coner lens to alternate and stay on ( jdm does not do this)
extended 1 wire for the rear glass defroster
extended 2 wires for the tag light

btw, does any one know what that wierd ass light on the jdm cluster is? its like a rectagle with pipes on each end and it looks like heat waves coming off it. mines jusst stays solid when ever my ignition is on.

My jaw is still on the floor over this one, not so much because of the RHD, just because of how fast you did it, You make my project seem like its going in reverse!

Yeah i must agree with most that posted on this, man you are fast as ----. Nice job on that ----, specially since its winter and ---- lol. Outside does suck. Ive wanted to do that to my car too, but it would take me like 5 years to do.

:o :o :o
speechless with wonder

well done indeed. (too bad about right side steering wheel. Would you get trouble from the cops about it btw)

so how does it drive?

Re: rhd conversion is underway (run 56k, run!

I think that your light on the cluster you are talking about, is the catalitic convertor light. Some of the JDM clusters have it.

I've never liked RHD swaps and thought that only stupid ricers did them until this thread.
It looks awesome and it takes a lot of balls to do that.

Did you have to re-weld any of the tabs for hood release or ecu mount, or was it strictly firewall?

i had to move the tabs for the hood release lever, the blower unit mount and the brace that supports the steering column.

thanks to the good guys at honda, they make it real simple. there are these littile bumps that stick up on the side wall of the car and each bracket has little impression that correspond with these bumps, no need to measure or anything.

i also had to drill a hole on the side under the fender where the hood cable come in, it was also pre marked.

MikeJ-2009 01-01-2006 10:50 AM

Re: rhd conversion is underway (run 56k, run!

So did you not use the steering wheel support bar from the jdm clip? Or the blower?

Paperchase013 01-01-2006 03:48 PM

Re: rhd conversion is underway (run 56k, run!

i used everything from the jdm clip from the seats forward, not including the body parts (fenders, bumpers, hood, lights)

i had to you the jdm blower as it is iinverted it goes BLOWER>>>A/C>>>HEATER>>steering wheel

while the US one goes steering wheel>>HEATER>>A/C>>>BLOWER

If you want a sic JDM ITR wing let me know. You need the sidemarkers to.

nice conversion. like everyone else said, you got some nuts to try that, especially on a DD and in your driveway. looks good man.

#4 what are u gonna do for inspection?

Re: rhd conversion is underway (run 56k, run!

Wow, that makes my motor swap look slow. Also, I have a JDM EG6 harness as well, it is missing the vtec, oilpressure, and knock sensor plugs as I needed to add them to my LS harness, but you can just wire yours onto it, much easier than stretching wires. Everything else is intact. Not looking to make any money off of it, I just don't want it taking up space in the garage.

i am i the only one who would have a bucket full of "extra" nuts and bolts after this?

myshtern 01-21-2006 07:37 PM

Re: rhd conversion is underway (run 56k, run!

I have extra nuts and bolts after I do anything to my car.
I like to think of it as weight conservation.

Re: rhd conversion is underway (run 56k, run!

looks like a complete waste of time and a tremendous waste of hard work. if i was you i would've fully built my engine instead of doing that rhd. all that work only to end up driving on the wrong side. but to each his own.

MikeJ-2009 01-22-2006 04:08 PM

Re: rhd conversion is underway (run 56k, run!

In order to waste your own time and hard work you would first have to come to the conclusion that that's not what you want, and then still do it.

Sometimes building the car is more fun than driving it. I'm a 65/35 guy respectively.

i think he is asking what are you doing about it getting registered witha different vin on the firewall. but it could be like around here were they dont even look at the car

All he has to do is rivet in his old VIN plate and he's done.
