I searched and couldnt come up with the answers that I am looking for. I am putting a remote mount on my wrangler. Similar to this

I am looking to see how much support the turbo needs. I dont really see any brackets holding it up. Is the exhaust tubing actually enough if I brace the tubing to the block?

Thanks in advance. I will post pics of the project as it gets going. Hope to have it running by the second week of January.

Brace it to the A/C compressor bracket if it has it. I am doing a turbo kit on a Pacer with a Jeep 4.7 stroker next month. I will post some pics if you need ideas.

i am amazed at the lack of flaming here. im too lazy to do it, but that pic isnt really remote mount setup. if i remember right anything jeep that wasnt a v-8 was inline weather 4 or 6 cylinder so really thats a top mount. i cant imiagine you would need much bracing unless your welds suck on the manifold. mostly just to help with vibration

Popular opinion is Schedule 40 doesn't need a brace. Schedule 10 probably doesn't either. 16 gauge, look into a heim joint brace.

Jeeps came and come V6. This doesnt look to be that anyway but this is remote. The intake and the exhaust are on the same side.(drivers) and the up pipe wraps around and comes back into the engine bay on the passenger side. Its like a 505 kit.

jeeps intakes and exhaust are both on the driver side. My exhaust comes down the driver side of the block, under the oil pan, and up the passenger side to the t3 flange.

im a retard. i forgot that they were on the same side, DEE DA DEE. i didnt know they made v6's though. that was never in the AMC days was it?

Google Dauntless. It was a buick odd fire V6 that came in early CJ5's. The XJ also came with the shitbag 2.8 at inception.

you're right schedule-40 doesn't need bracing because it's strong. it's weight alsomeans your head bolts/studs are holding up a swaying crate of bricks. which is why you ALWAYS brace schedule-40 piping when it's not something tiny like a log manifold. for that amtter you always brace any turbo that doesn't directly mount to a manifold.

and when you brace it, brace it to the block, or something attached well to the block so that it doesn't pull apart from the swaying.
