yea one more thing how do you get it so after ur done welding my welds have a bunch of black ---- on them, ive seen other peoples welds they look perfectly clean and they still have the crazy clouration,
No I don't do a cheater pass to make it look pretty. I do a root pass that gets full penetration and only fills the bevel about half way up. After that cools down I make another pass with filler to fill in the rest of the bevel. If I had done a cheater pass ( pulsing it while making circles with no filler) it would have been the 3rd pass not the second.

So in short no I don't do cheater passes.

Here I stole one of Engloids pics to show what I mean. I hope he doesnt mind. *crosses fingers*

The weld on the top is the root pass that is done first. Notice how it doesn't consume the bevels. It's there to get full penetration. The weld below it is the cover pass that fills in the rest of the bevel. Hopefully that clears things up for you a little bit.

It was actually a huge compliment that you thought I did a cheater pass. So thanks

Lol you guys should hear sean in real life. He tried to explain the gm ecm to me once and at the same time show me every goddamn feature in the tuner cat sofware. I had a headache for days :P

Based on your fuzzy pics, I'd have to think that you're not looking in the right places for work or you'd find something to pay you better than ornamental iron.

How about some better pics?

Oh, and for those that wonder about the pic of my weld... The reason there's some trashy looking stuff along the edges of the weld is because this is not your average stainless steel. It's an alloy called 254SMO, or AX6XN. It's welded with hastelloy filler wire. There's a high nickel content, which makes it pretty difficult to weld. With your average 300 series stainless, you shouldn't have this trashy stuff on the weld.

I meant better than making manifolds for turbo hondas. It's just a small business I run with my dad. It pays the bills.

I'm working on getting some less shitty pics. Probably when I'm all done with everything.
