problem with my top mount manifold *pics*

ok, here is the problem... i'm not sure the best location for my wastegate on this manifold i just tacked together. i'm thinking either behind the rad and run a pipe out the engine side of the collector (would be a bitch to weld), or i can put it down beside the collector and run the downpipe behind the rad. i don't really have any other options as the charge pipe for the cold side will be on the driver's side of the mani.

cast a vote and let me know your thoughts.

here is the space:

here is the manifold:

here it is installed:

with the turbo:

here is option #1 with a pipe that would run down in behind the turbo inbetween the collector and runners:

here is option #2 with a pipe coming straight out of the collector and down(the dp would have to run behind the rad):

use your imagination for option #3.

I'd go with option 1. Along with that, I'd add that I would roll it over "right side up."

The drawback to that is that you will probably have to elbow up, into the bottom of the wastegate, then the outlet will need an elbow there also. One thing to keep in mind is that the flow reduction of having the two elbows won't have much affect, since it's just the wastegate and won't be flowing like a manifold runner would. The advantages of having it up top are that you will be able to get to it easier, and it gives the nice bling factor that people like and pay for.

I'd say put it by the rad but it seems like everyone else is going with hotrex's ass :P

put it next to the rad

just remember that if you want to sell it later, make sure to clear the clutch slave cylinder ;)
