precision 225 vs syncrowave 200

Going to buy one. Both are the same price. with the red you get an extra 25 amps

Lincoln® Precision TIG® 225 Ready-Pak With Cart AC/DC TIG Welder, 208/230 Volt, Single Phase, 60 Hertz

Miller® Syncrowave® 200 TIG Welder 208/230 Volts, Single Phase, 50/60 Hertz With TIG Runner

With the extra amps, i think the lincoln might be the best bang for the buck.

What do you guys think?

i love my sync 200, never used a lincoln but i would never switch from my miller's.

youll never need 225 amps on any automotive use. my thermal arc 185 amp unit has been more then enough for anyting ive ever done.

i wiuld go with the miller, better unit then the lincoln.

i wish i had 250amps some times, it is nice to be able to weld up some thick AL when needed with ease.

right now i have done some things where i was really maxing the machine.

i do agree that with 99% of what you will do 200 amps is plenty

The Lincoln is not an inverter. I would say get the one that has the most features, best duty cycle and lowest price. They are both quality, proven machines.

i love my syncrowave 200. haven't ever tried the lincoln tho
and yea, i've never used 200 amps yet on my miller

I don't know if it's just me but my millers have always welded better than any lincoln I've ever used. I have a miller 180SD that welded better than a precision tig 175 I've used. ALso, my old hobart 135 MIG, and Millermatic 135 MIG threw down cleaner and more precise beads than stealthmode's lincoln 135 I was using for a bit. I'm not saying that miller is better, but it was better to me. Thanks again to stealthmode for letting me borrow his machine for so long.

Love my sync200 never been anywhere near 200 amps. I learned how to weld on a Lincoln. Never go wrong with BLUE or red. Cheers

I have a Syncrowave 200.

They call for an 80 amp breaker. Good luck finding a 80 amp plug and receptacle.

I just wired mine into a junction box, and use the breaker to shut off power. It's code if the breaker is in sight of the machine. Here anyway.
