After 2 years of Tig welding pipe I am finally happy with my work

From now on expect all pipe manifolds to have welds like this

thats not gold james its pink, and you might wanna spend a few more secs on wire wheeling the letters off the tees.

i wish that my bmc log manifold had a sweet weld job like that mine cracked. the center joint leaks preaty bad if you want ill post pics

 

So you do no beveling with that?

 

no that is fully beveld, the picture makes the other pieces not look beveled but they are

All I can see is about 1/2" of weld.

 

this weld wasnt purged but I can reproduce it with ease on a full purge weld no problem, this weld was prepped with aprox 30 degree bevel, with no land left,weld was done in 3 passes:
fusion root weld 1st pass
80 amps filler weld to bring the weld level at the top
80 amps bead cap with filler to give it the extra umff
