my recent project...enjoy
well ******* its been a while since i wason here and posted. i actualy got married this past year and got a really great job at a incredibly busy shop. been workingg on buying a house and hopefully having a little me running around soon,.
but my project...
i acquired a gm8 brand new for 50 bux from my job and decided my wrangler that i bought for $1 could use a little turbo love. for the tank it is, it moves pretty damn good to about 3k where i let off cause the wastegate i have is 18psi /. if any one has a internal gate thats about 7-8 psi let me know. i need.
this is what i started with....i got 10 3.5" bends for 60 bux on ebay, and to combo bends.
first i figured out where i wanted the turbo to go...
then i relocated my battery to the trunk. i acutally un bolted the existing tray and used sheet metal screws to secure it in the trunk, and used the original hold down. i got some 4 gauge wire from napa and some terminal ends, and there ya go.
i then relocated the fuse box to where the battery used to be...
i started the downpipe fab..
and then i forgot to take pics so heres the finished product...
up pipe using most of the stock front pipe..
where it meets the turbo..i had to extend and reroute the alternator cable. had some spare 4gauge
from the battery
the downpipe
before this where the cat was is a 3" in and out muffler then flared to a 3.5" exhaust. it fit freaking perfect!
brackets holding the turbo..
oil lines...i had two sections of ss braided brake lines from my s4 and the worked perfect off the t and
at the turbo. the piece in the middle is 3/16 brake line. the T is from homedepot and is 1/8 pipe thread
fuel pump and fmu. i had the pump neatly mounted on the fire wall but i made so much damn noise i clamped it to the fuel rail. i made up a relay for it using the existing fuel pump wires. its prefect.you can see the relay in the fuse box pic
finished deal...
a random weld from my ford 8.8 install. my spicer 35 ---- the bed and i heard this was do able. got it for 200 bux at a yard. rebuilt it with all new bearings and seals and welded on a bracket it. thing is very ncie
thanks for looking

Holy ----, look what the cat dragged in! Im turboing my Jeep Cherokee right now too. You should join the offroad club I belong to. www.SISoffroad.com There is a lot of Fairfield guys in it. Conrats on getting married. Build looks great. I was going to use an FMU and a pump but I did 36lbs injectors and an AFC.

haha no ----. what turbo you using? the pump and fmu work great i just need to get a smaller wastegate. i acutally am getting 20-30 more mpg turboed than not. how does it run with the afc? post some pics dood. i went out last weekend with it and its amazing how many kids are interested in a turbo jeep.

i didnt want to use an external wastegate so i cut the elbow off the housing and made that ganster ----.. its perfect. i consider that part of the downpipe a part of the turbo. cause its a pain to get off. lol
