i made the tie bar today. it will probobly get mounts added later for a sway bar, i just dont have a sway bar right now Attachment 25387 Attachment 25388 Attachment 25389 as an added bonus, my lower tie bar Attachment 25390 |
Re: my new strut bar
How'd you make the strut flange? Thats whats slowing me down from making my own bars, no plasma/tourch :-\
|
Re: my new strut bar
three pieces of 1" angle. i drilled a whole for the studs from the shocks at one end of 2 of the pieces and the cut 45 degree ends on the other side and on both sides of the last piece and then welded them together. i did it all with a band saw. you could do it with a hack saw but it would be a lot of cutting

since your a painter... the trunk prepped and painted would look great in stock color. (with the red and yellow wires hidden of course.) |

Re: my new strut bar(added rear lower tie bar)
I have been thinking of sub frames for a while.. we'll see what I come up with.

Re: my new strut bar(added rear lower tie bar)
hopefully there will be a front strut bar in this thread by the end of the weekend. i have a huge amount of ---- to do to the car this weekend and its like 158 degrees in fl so i dont know how much i will get done. luckily the car isnt a daily driver. it has already been in the garage for 3 months and it will be another 7 months before i have a license. when this car finally does see the road again it will be badass
