My intake manifold fab.
I don't really do much aluminum work. I need quite of bit of work still. My consistency isn't great and I need to work on my starts and stops. I incorporated the velocity stacks into the plenum floor. The welds from the runners to the stock flange suck. I tried my best to clean the cast aluminum but nothing worked too get it perfectly clean. I thought I would post it up on here and hopefully get some advice on what I'm doing wrong. Thanks.

Re: My intake manifold fab.
What you need help on? Clean, use some carb cleaner.

Re: My intake manifold fab.
Need more consistency with head and filler. Don't stop/start so much. Clean cast runners with A/C current, brush off contaminants, repeat a few times. Done. Did you do those velocity stacks with a router?

Re: My intake manifold fab.
What's the purpose of the stacks if their flush with the plenum? I thought if your using stacks then to mount them so their raised inside the plenum? Overall looks better then what I can do.

Re: My intake manifold fab.
hotter and and faster. Welds are just plain old too cold.
how much hp improvement do you get
Looks nice so far
looks good to me..........
nice work
Round it out a bit?
loooks nice
Didn't mean to be a dick about the rounding out comment, but there's a lot you could do w/ a panel beater bag. What did you use to weld that?

NICE!! I might have to send you some stuff and cash to make one for a buddy's eclipse!
definitely to cold...i suggest preheating the cast runners with the torch, the a/c wave will help clean it too making it alot easier to weld. the ported radius looks pretty good.
I wanted to round out the sides, but I did some research and this design flow best for the DSM.
Looks good. You can always improve on the nextone. The first one gets your feet wet. You should be straight from here out. Crank the amps up. Cast sucks, but its cheap
Before I do my next one I'm going to buy a welder with more amps. The 200 amps limits my ability to do much aluminum work.
What did you use to round the inside of the runners?
not bad. better than mines

Plan on taking it to a flow bench?

Nice mani!!!!!

not to bad..
looks good i would have i boost leak test to see if you have any pinholes in your welds

you are supposed to raise the velocity stacks up off the plenum floor, the air flow is supposed to flow into the stacks in a "s" motion.
just constructive critisim, but the manifold does look good- is it your first one?
