Nice! Honestly those welds look real nice for mild steel. how did you get the tungsten stuck in the weld?!?!

be welding and accidentally touch the tungsten into the pool and then the pool solidifies and the tip of the tungsten is stuck in there and the only way to get the tungsten out is to snap off the very tip of it.

have you ever TIGed?

Man, that's a pretty sweet DIY.

I'd go over some of the joints a second time, though, they look undercut and need more filler rod. Also, the filler rod would take care of any holes you have in the welds.

I don't know why people think flanges have to be a perfect mirror of the other side. Its $7 per T3 flange if you find a smoking ebay deal and $25 for the head flange likewise, or for $30 you can have enough raw steel to make 3 of each. I'll be making some real cheap turbo adapters for stock cast headers soon, and plate steel is the easiest/cheapest way possible.

Other than that, the welds look great, as well as the alignment. Excellent work for your first manifold. Many people's 1st wouldn't hold up a carton of **** (tobacco), much less a turbo.

and ya like those flanges 1/2'' cold rolled, and i actually drilled the ports out with a 1.25'' bit and like a quart of oil, took like 2 hours. and i did finish it tonght and pretty soon i will start on the downpipe.
lol that is the exact setup I am running right now. td04l on a 5efhe with 4e pistons and megasquirt 2.2 w/ msns-e. It's fun but Im ready to go to a big boy turbo :P
