Default Mandrel Bends

I think this would be the right place to post this. I'm currently working on a cutout Downpipe for my car. It's a 3" 304 SS 16gauge downpipe with a cut out. I was lucky and one of my buddies dads actually works for a plant that does a bunch of contracts that deal with various metals in all shapes and sizes. So I got about 10 feet of this shiny Stainless for about $80!!! Well my initial plans for this was to make the DP interchangeable that is to make the cutout/race pipe/Cat? all interchangeable on V-band flanges, unfortunately v-bands are hella expensive...LOL so I just created this DP to help off set some of the costs. Yes they do sell some already done with the cuout and not pieced together but I still was able to make this cheaper than the ones on the market.

This was the first one. I had the stupid cutout lined up wrong so when I went to put it on my car the cutout was on the drivers side and hitting the Cross member.

SOOOO took it off and added a 3" piece and turned the cutout so it would face straight down and not hit the cross member.

So now my dilemma is that I need to make a bend so that the exhaust bolts up to the stock exhaust. Also I want to add an adapter so that I can use a 3bolt flange that will taper down to 2.25" possibly a Venturi Cone that will allow me to bolt up to any other catback system.

This last piece is actually the midsection of my custom exhaust. I need to get me some 90's to finish that up and then it's some "tricky" stuff to go over the rear end and out the back.

So does anyone know a place in so cal that will bend stuff for me if I take them the material and won't charge an arm and a leg to do so I know I could probably buy some but I have the material I just need it bent!

And another remark. I plan on v-banding the entire exhaust to make it fast and easy to take off and put on As well as to make it so that I can swap the rear half of the exhaust whether I want a single or dual tip out the back or a side exit or hell even a dump.

And I do apologize for the crappy cell phone pics. The GF has the digital camera

That is who I would speak to. If his bend prices are too expensive, he is very competitively priced for mandrel bends so you can always do that though him and save money on shipping/time.

There we go! that's the shop I've been looking for. Thanks! Now I gotta give them a call and find out what they charge to bend something for me if I bring them the material to bend.

Make sure all variables are the same. I've found many places have either different radii or different leg length. So they aren't necessarily direct comparisons.

that I did.
Maz price VS CRMB price + 5% off:
My most common buys in 16ga 304
1.5" Stainless Tube
$8 - $8.075

2.5'' Stainless Tube
$10 - $10.26

3.0'' Stainless Tube
$11.25 - $10.925

1.5'' Stainless, 180 Degree, 3.00'' Radius Mandrel Bend
$15.10 - $16.6915

2.0'' Stainless, 45 Degree, 3.00'' Radius Mandrel Bend
$15.50 - $18.9905

2.5'' Stainless, 180 Degree, 3.75'' Radius Mandrel Bend
$27.20 - $28.4905

We should all email Columbia River Mandrel Bending and ask for a 10% discount on the basis that evne with their 5% discount they generally cost more. That way they get to keep their higher price on the website, but we don't get raped. I like that RS sells a much wider variatey, but i also like that MAZ has a 4.75" radious bender for their 3" pipe instead of 6". Honestly I rarely use 3" pipe, but the few times I touch it smaller bends would be nice...

You should try out 4" radius if you need tight 3" bends.

We have no intention of posting the cheapest prices on the internet - we don't need to play that game. We primarily compete against large online automotive warehouses for the internet market and those guys are typically 15-20% higher then we are posted and we are gobbling up their business. However, for those that want to compare us against the smaller shops that like to hover just below us, we do offer a flat rate 12.99 ground service anywhere in the continental US now. That's often a very expensive hidden cost that is little compared. Because of the volume of bends we ship now (>4000 bends a week) we pass the shipping savings on to you.
