Default making a collector

i dont have a band saw like most of you, but i do however have a portaband! what i was thinking to make my collector was get a piece of metal that has a slightly larger ID then the collectors OD and cut my angle on the larger piece and put the smaller piece inside of it to duplicate my cuts. anyone every tried this/think it would work/have a better idea?

Unless you're a robot the portaband wont work very well.

thats why i said cut a larger piece of metal to the same angle so it would work as a guide so the line would be straight? or maybe a sawzall?

Thing is though, the sawzall will cut through the larger piece of metal too. Even if it doesnt, it will flex and bend way too much.

i think i may try to build a custom jig to hold the pipe at the angle i want it and put it in my radial arm saw with a metal blade. i think if i made like a right triangle jig with a small piece sticking out of the side opposite the right angle to keep it pipe from sliding down would make some pretty nice collectors, yea?
