shouldn't need to go to a slim fan with this setup. thankfully it was only a 2.5" dp.

That's an a/c compressor, not a power steering pump.

pshhhh, I've fit a 3" DP in there with AC, and that includes the t3's internal wastegate housing in the way.

Have fun with the oil drain tube, thats always the best part. Looks good, is this specifically for a cstomer, or was this just for fun? :P

Is that an SSAC wastegate, the diaphragm looks like it's pretty worn

i've also done a 3" dp with an internally gated turbo and a/c as well... but can you do it without pie cutting the dp?

it was at a cusomer's request.

Let's see it.

The only thing I can say is I consistently disagree with how you route your WG into the downpipe. It should be done right before the oil pan when the DP kicks back straight. I'd love to see a dyno chart of this car. I have a strong feeling once the WG opens, the power production gets completely wavy.

I agree, but i have seen setups get by somehow. I got tired of it, so since we dont have emissions laws here and everyone is a ricer, i just route them all behind the pan or out the bumper per request :)

Re: log+gt28+a/c=tight

nice work the only thing i see is the dump tube needs a small flex section or it will eventually crack.

Jago, I'd agree if it were going on a POS setup that didn't matter, but a GT28rs turbo is $1000+. It's not a joke setup. The WG dumping into the exhaust with that small of a turbine/downpipe is just going to cause greater turbulance/back pressure/turbine inefficiency resulting in power loss. Routing it another 1.5' down stream in a less abrupt manner would minimize those issues.

customer is only looking to make 250, so i don't think it will matter too much.

Just curious, what's the advantage of cleaning the ENTIRE piece of pipe before welding it?

Difference between a HMT welder and a Professional welder.

no real advantage for doing the whole piece before welding, but if i'm gonna be at the bench grinder taking it to the wire wheel anyway, why not take 15 more seconds and do the whole thing so it looks nice and uniform? on a manifold, or dump tube it doesn't take that much extra time, but i don't usually do the whole downpipe.

it is just plain 304ss, looks like any other 304 before the wire wheel gets it.

How will you run the oil return on a setup like that?
Do you go over the downpipe to get to the other side?

yes. that is why in the first pic it looks like there is quite a bit of clearance between the downpipe and the oil pan, so there is room to squeeze an oil return in there.
