well you really have to know how to acr weld at first basicly to do anything. you have to lean how to control the puddle first on something easy like arc before you can go on to other things more involved like tig. I mean when I tried tig after learing arc pretty good it seemd pretty easy to me I just have the problem being borderlin diabetic that I shake alot so, it can be hard to keep a nice steady puddle but if you can master keeping you puddle like the shape of your fingernail you can master pretty much anything in time.
and I am currently taking classes at boces. in western ny was a free clase offered from a ged class I was taking at the time. I will be going back this january to take the 2nd class for high tensile steel and propably stainless I am going to work on getting certified as a dot approved welder with the 1" thick plate bend test. : )
That is about what I figured.I own a wirefeed and am starting the arc lessons monday so I think once i grasp Arc the transition to Tig should be alot easier. It has been a progression slowly from solder, wirefeed, arc then Tig.Hopefully soon enough there will be no more buying manifolds and paying fabricators. Thanks for the info.

no problem. I actually just tried out the mig on wednesday lol man after learning acr that was a joke haha just point and shoot it. you will def benifit from the arc lessons. and I can't wait to not have to pay for and mani's either plus always cool when you open the hood and say yep I made the complete exaust mani for my turbo setup. and you would have just saved like umm 300+ $$ enjoy the classes and let me know how it goes.

you'd be better off fabing something something up and posting up some info on how to do it and help other people out with their Q's, than thinking your the man because you can spell... if that's the case, go find a spelling B web site

werd. I used to oxy weld alot because its all I had and after getting pretty good at that tig is soo much easier. its nice to have heat control with your foot as apposed to having to change the torch angle all the time. that and the pulser feature that my machine has just makes me real happy when welding aluminum.
