I trained myself to use the CNC machine, have a sheet of alu sitting next to my desk. I'm just too busy getting mashed to get round to it! But having seen this post I will get round to it now.

And in the process of writing this reply, I got my *** in gear and did the GCode for the CNC machine. Bit worried about the hole for the keyring being too small, it is 2.5mm

Anyway, I'm going to try and machine this tomorrow and see what happens. Hopefully I will have a picture to show. But I am using a 2mm routing bit, which won't do sharp corners very well. I might add in a second pass with a finer end mill to get more definition of the lettering. Certainly not a quick process generating this code. I've spent all afternoon, just on a simple keyring.

Get some of that phenolic material and make intake gasket spacers. All the ricers love those things, they add 20hp if you have a CIA. :1

Seriously though, the material can be fairly cheap for what you sell the gaskets for. You can also get some fairly soft stuff, softer than most plastic.

I'll make some samples this Saturday if I'm motivated.

DrSeuss, don't drill the hole with the router. I just dumped that hole in for a sample. Also if you asked, I would have given you a vector file so you wouldn't have to generate the GCode.

importantly, what program are you using for the code?

writing it directly into say, notepad, or an editor?

using CAM?

im a cnc machinist by trade, and curious.....
