JB weld tranny
ok so my brother plowed over a curb and it took a little chunk of the auto tranny out, all the fluid is drained but small amounts keep on coming through when i try and use JB weld to patch it! it sucks any ideas? I know this is THE place to ask about JB weld lol

i hit it up with some sand paper to rough it up and then i sprayed it with break cleaner to get it spotless, i wiped it off with a clean rag and waited a few minutes for it to dry totaly, then i applied the JB but i can see a little dab of red tranny fluid still coming through WTF lol

how big of a canyon are you trying to fill? Or are you trying to jb the old piece back in?

This seems like you might have to jack the car up so that all the trans fluid will be flowign away from the work area, then you some sort of metal filler putty.

Well jb weld or any metal goooop stuff works well if the surface is spotless and oil free. This would mean cleaning the area and sanding,cleaning,sanding etc. Then find a material that you can fill in a large gap with and hammer into shape. JB weld is meant to fill gaps which I have done with itb manifolds and intake manifolds to get the angle I want. Not literally filling in huge surface areas. if you can a shape close to what your looking for the jb weld might work. Letting large amounts also should be left for atleast a day.

ill have have to give him a call lol. I used some stuff called "quick steel" i found at vatozone 
to fill in the hole, I have the front of the car jacked way up and i have the drain open to let any drops out.
the quick steel hardens up very hard then i threw the JB weld on over the top. should be dry in a few hours ill take pics lol. and report how well it holds up.
