yes BONDO...the actual name brand bondo will crack. If you use some nice plastic filler with the CORRECT hardener to filler ratio, it will NOT crack. At least not at the locations you seem to have planned on using it on. +1 for black, cleans the whole console up and matches everything. Unless you want that jdm bling blang factor yO!

any body filler will crack when put on too thick and they are all about the same. the bondo brand will crack with a thinner amount than the rest but the difference isnt much.

when I do projects like that I use fiberglass resin instead. A bitch to sand but it's lighter and I've never had it crack.

fiberglass is the way to go but if you are using resin only and no cloth that also will crack. for something like that i would recommend fiberglass matt. its messy, but very easy to work with and cheap.

the stuff i use is "West System". you can get it at boat stores. it is very easy to work with and is very strong. we fix airplanes with it. you want to stay away from the polyester resins. they arent as good and are also not as easy to work with. when it gets hard it is instant and without any notice. the west system slowly gets hard so you know when your working time is coming to an end. here is what you need. just get the 105 and the 206. the 207 is good if you are making something out of carbon fiber and plan to leave it bare. the 207 is for UV protection

The West System is great but the components can be a bit on the expensive side!
