i want to build a manifold

i want to build a manifold for a turbo but i was wondering whether or not i really need a welder i wanna do this all by myself and i dont see why i cant use those exhaust clamps from autozone to hold it together

txdohczc 04-24-2009 05:03 PM

i guess there are no fabricators on this site anymore

---- hose clamps you stupid ------- nig-nog, everyone knows that used tampons are HMT JDM style y0.

racingbrett 04-24-2009 08:00 PM

exhaust clamps :/ not sure what clamps ur talkin about, but over here in the uk those piece of ---- clamps have problem enough holding a straight section of exhaust under the car clamped together, throw in the extra heat of a manifold and turbo,

....................................

WTF a turbo manifold with clamps, why not throw in some chewing gum and sticky back plastic, strap the turbo on with some cable ties n bobs ur uncle.

There are...exhaust clamps? That would be a big no on that one for holding together a manifold. Weld it together man. Try to build a nice elephant trunk top mount set up. Just use some 90 degree piping and couple mandrel bends welded to bottom of a two piece header (welded to cut bottom half of course).

demonboy 04-27-2009 01:52 PM

lol zc keep posting

hatchdx-si 04-28-2009 11:07 AM

pft all you need is jbweld and zip ties

kleenef 04-28-2009 02:46 PM

you definitly need a welder.

cobz436 04-28-2009 04:38 PM

can a MIG be used?... or would it strictly be TIG..... or stick?

txdohczc 04-28-2009 05:30 PM

i think im going to try a high heat two part epoxy to hold it together. the same ---- they use to patch holes in space shuttles. if it can reenter the atmosphere it should hold together a few pieces of pipe on my studabaker

turbominime4door 04-29-2009 07:04 AM

screw the epoxy this is hmt jb weld the bitch

Turbo10 04-29-2009 11:38 PM

i say get a box of wheaties, crush them up and mix with water until it starts to get sticky. fab up your pipes, put your wheaties weld on the joints and bake at 400 for 1hr, try to keep the kids away... lol
