well what kind of metal are you planning on welding and what thickness and what are you trying to make?

 

i think mig would be better to get cause its easy to weld with. but if you dont mind stick weding than get the stick welder. id buy the mig if i was in your position.

 

i need to weld exhaust pipes and log mani but im going to practice on my stock exhaust header and tubing ----.

 

well out of those two items, I would choose the dual mig. which should be enough for what you plan on doing currently.. however those may change in the comming year.
however, its is my personal opinion. that you migh as well spend a little more and get the tig welder from harbor freight. and spend a little bit more to get something a little bit better.

which ever route you go.. you should search around for coupons, and sales.. I belive there is a 20% coupon out there for a single item. and also if you find the same item cheaper online.. the store will honor it..(this might depend on your store) better to ask... I mean, after all. it is your money.

You should just man up and get the tig welder from them.....Ive owned the mig you are lookin at "dual mig151", it actually worked great, but I sold it and got the tig from them, it also does arc welding and its the SAME PRICE.....$199
