I need a welder to make log manifolds in the 300$ range!
I have never welded in my life but since Im falling in love with boost maybe I should start. Any info would help I will be willing to go up to 400$ so let me know. Mig is good for making mani's right?

its tough cause all the chop saws, grinders, clamps, welding masks, gloves, consumables, GAS bottles ect make a small START UP budget difficult. for example the welder i bought was only 280 bux (clarke 130en mig from weldingdepot.com) but with the regulato,r gass, tools, blah blah it wound up in the 600-700 dollar range for everything.
my point is not to discourage just theres a lot of other crap that you need to think of besides just the welder. if you can look for deals on used stuff, if you can the gas bottle since those are $$. i paid 120 or so for a 40 cu/ft bottle filled with Ar/co2. refills are 20/30 bux i belive.

it cost me $13.88 to fill up a 40cube botle of pure argon at the local supply shop. and they charge $8/mo to rent any size bottle. I think when i go into fill this bitch up again i'm going to get a big bottle. that little one barely lasted long enough to build my manifold and charge piping.
