I am looking to get a tubing bender next. I am hoping to do Jeep Bumpers,Rock Rails, and Racks. Maybe a cage for the CRX.....
Nice. I've been wanting to get one of those pretty bad. I was just checking out the Grizzly one at their store and it looks good. The harbor freight looks like it's the exact same one, just $30 cheaper.

Wait HF says it has 1/3hp motor, Griz says 1/2 H.P., 110/220V , 60Hz, 1720 RPM

-edit- Now that I look at them side by side, there are alot of little differences. The blade guides, the stand, the motor. CS, would you mind taking more pics of your saw?

Again mine is IDENTICAL to the second Pic there. Well, It's Red and Black. I love it. Yes it cuts slower then a Chop Saw, BUT WAY CLEANER!!! ANd not Hot to the touch.

I use Bi-Metal Blades, Well worth the extra cost of them.

Mine was 225.00 CAN. So about the same cost with no shiping.

I have had the harbor frieght 4x6 bandsaw for a few months now, one of the best things I have ever bought for the garage. Buy a nice bi-metal blade for it and it will cut much faster, and last a lot longer. Also change the oil in the gear box. Just google 4x6 bandsaw and you will fond tons of littl emods you can do to it. There is even a yahoo group for them. lol

Also tube and pipe are different when it comes to the dies needed to bend it. The harbor frieght pipe crusher will do nothing but smash pipe. It can be done but it requires packing the pipe with sand and welding ends on it. And then you are still stuck with just doing pipe, since if the die isn't a perfect fit you will get kinks.

I have this. pipe and tube bender and it works great, about the cheapest thing you can get that will do a decent job.

What is that "crank" looking thing sticking out twords us parallel w/the vise? I have a shop fox h/v 4x6 and it came w/that thing and i can't figure out what it does.

Mine is a different brand but there is subtle differesnces between them all. I'm willing to bet there all made side by side in a factory in china.

It's a depth gauge if your cutting materials of the same length. You slide it through to the stop and close the vise and tighten it at the length of the cut you want. Turn the saw on, cut the piece, remove it, and the length won't have to be adjusted the next piece if your cutting the same size piece of metal, you just slide it in until it hits the gauge. And your good to go.

I work in a precision machine shop (tooling and injection molding) and we have one (similar, bigger and has a cooling system on it) for cutting stock.

Here's the company my fiance's dad owns it. If you ever need a plastic part mass produced, we can do it.

After further use I have found the factory blade to less than useless. It also has an issue wtih pulley alignment. I have found that if you have slotted alignment tabs and tighten them against the pulley adjuster more and its fine.
