Default hx55.. will it need bracing?

i'm most likely going to have to mount my hx55 on the other side of my engine bay, opposite the exhaust since the intake and carb is there.

room i have on the drivers side to work with.

intake is NOW sitting straight above the red oxide primered exhaust, thanks to it sporting a 4bbl.

intake added about 30lbs between carb and all the extra metal, exhaust is stock. i'm going to be stressing the stock I/E bolts already, which are 3/8-16, yet are not a tight fit in the head, poor cast or tapping i guess.

anyone think its better to relocate to drivers side, or keep it all crammed in on one side?

yea i would just have the exhaust go underneath the engine by the crossmember and come back up to the driver side and mount it right above the oil filter and you could brace it off the motor mount bracket

there is 2" of room between the x-member, which is almost a foot wide. under the pan is going to be tough, but maybe i can find a way.

i've done it down & back up under a crossmember on afew cam's before. build a brace to the block so it all moves together. don't be dumb and hard brace it to the frame, eventually something will pull apart.
block, bellhousing, whatever you can get too.

nice old i6 tho

There's a ton of ---- on the left side to bolt bracing onto. You've got all those bolts holding the tappet cover onto the block, valve cover bolts, engine mount over there... build a big goddamned frame surrounding the turbo and bolt it to three or four different locations on the side of the block, then run a pipe to it.

Also, a carbed turbo setup? You ------- nig nog.
