Re: how to build a 4-1 collector(hp-style)
sure a 6 inch collector will do it if you know what your doing, ---- you could do it with a 4 inch collector.
my guess is your gonna use the extra piece fo rthe wg flange?
ill be interested to see how this comes out. any way you look at it,. a well cut collector will mate to the t3 flange without having to have the bottom cut.

no its as simple as me doing it for alot longer of a time than you and offering the advice to help you do it corerectly.
everyones ---- sucks when they start.
now look at my stuff . its the product of a sharp learning curve, taking lots of advice and learning how to do ---- right.
how you made your collector is not right, or efficient. thats all im saying.
the object of the collector is to have the shallowest merge possible. and to not waste 15 dollars worth of material when you make em either.
if you ---- with the angles on the saw youll realize you can start with a 5 inch piece and be just mint.

this is the beauty of fab work...bottom line it comes down to is that there isn't a wrong way to do it so long as the end product comes out the way you need it.
i would definitely agree that for a production environment that your method would not work well and it quite wasteful, but if you're not running a business, then hey....---- it.
the tips for playing with angles, and tacking everything together first is very solid advice...you might give it a shot next time see how it goes for ya.

It was tacked, it warped when I split it apart to do the inside.
didn't matter much because I had a lot of material to remove to make it fit the t3 flange perfectly.
I'm nothing without my sander, nothing.
