Homemade Sandrail?
Has anyone ever fabbed a sand rail kart before?
I am student teaching an advanced welding class at a highschool right now, and they want a sweet project. I want them to do a turbo d sandrail... but we need some plans...
We will be collaborating with the advanced electrical class for ecu wiring if it all goes according to plan

Re: Homemade Sandrail?
This is a learning experience for some kids, so no I don't want it pre-bent I'm not looking to buy a "kit" either, so cut your salesman bullshit. All I want is some plans that I dont have to pay 30 dollars for.

are you looking for plans of something like this?
berrien buggy use to sell plans, dunno if they still do though.
also, don't flip on me, you said it was a welding class, not a bending/welding fab class... so i was just trying to figure out what the hell you were going for.

Re: Homemade Sandrail?
We built one in HS w/ a suzuki 700cc on it, it was bad *** as hell. The teacher flipped it in the parking lot with a student in the passenger seat, the kid was fine but the teacher broke his arm and fucked up his hand. It would easily do 80+ mph, 6 speed rachet style shifter. We used an old VW beetle rear end for suspension.

Re: Homemade Sandrail?
yeah, i would contact berrian buggy (website is berrianbuggy.com) they are located in Berrian Springs, MI.
that is the only place i can think of off the top of my head. but its for a buggy that uses VW parts. and not honda parts. sorry.
i heard of a company in Arizona that was doing j30's in sand rails, that may help you too.
