I'm not sure about other state regs...but I'm pretty sure in most places, you need a dual axle trailer to tow a car.

Other than that...props.

Post up the specs to the trailer, make a full write-up and I'll put it front page O0

Hmmm....sounds logical, but I've seen plenty of trailers with single 3500# axles that look like they were purpose built for towing small cars, or heavy equipment. I think 2 3500# axles is overkill to tow a car though. :S

Probably so on the tandem for a car trailer, but the trip to the track I will go to the most I doubt I will ever get above 55mph and it is rural the whole way. I've seen much sketchier stuff. Worse case is I will have to spend another $150 and get a second axle.
Was hoping to test it out this weekend end, my M&H racematers got here today. But lack of funds for gas is sucking.

How muck tongue weight do you have with the car on the trailer? It looks like there is alot of car after the axle including the engine and transmission. I built a single axle trailer for my escort but found a landscape trailer for cheap and the drop ramp on the back is nice.Do you live near lebanon valley dragway and if not which track to you race at? I would like to take the corolla to see what it will do in the 1/4 so let me know if you are going and i may tow it to see what it does.

Car & Driver did a story on a "Model T" that was really just a 720whp iron-block sprint car with DOT tires & wings removed - with the Model T tag bolted on.

I'll ask my bro later about what WI requires, as he's a cop. I think its just a good idea to two axles (for bumps, it adds a lot more stress). But two for a light FWD racecar is overkill.

Took the trailer for it's first outing with the car on it this weekend. Pulled great, couldn't be happier with it. Pulling it with the car on it felt like pulling the empty tandem, and my trip to the track and back used a ton less gas. Track results sucked, got some big ass sticky tires, which killed my gear ratio and the car would not come out of the hole to save it's life :( But the trailer rocks.

Went to get some trailer tires, but was out of my budget right now, so hit the u-pull yard for some truck rims and tires to replace the dry rotted ones that where on it. Ended up in the car section though, got some 16's of an old lincoln mark 7. Figure if they can handle that heavy ass barge plowing through corners they will hold up my car no problem, plus they look pimp. Spray bombed the rims on the expedition black while I was at it as the paint was flaking badly and looked like crap.

nice work randy.

making it out of aluminum would make it lighter, but more $. did you price the material for aluminum? if so, what was the difference?
