OP, I would recommend you use the black iron pipe on the shelf next to the cast/threaded bends, as it's thicker/stronger. My experience using mild steel exhaust pipe to support a turbo was the pipe would fatigue and crack adjacent to the weld when it was required to support the weight of the turbo. Failing that, some fence post would do the trick and could be stolen from your local elementary school, construction site, or annoying neighbor. |

or church ;D yea thats def the weakness of it but like i said i got a ching chang cast mani with a lifetime warranty for less then i spent on all my fail/not used attempts. wish i went with it in the first place :1
Heres a log attempt that failed because i tried using a sawzall'd stock mani flange (nasty cast) warped like a mofo: Attachment 10751 |
Re: Home depot Sinklog mani
reminds me of the top mount setup I had about 3 years ago - same idea but I used 2" sch. 40 bends - cost me under $50 and ran it for about 1.5 years.

Re: Home depot Sinklog mani
How do you plan on using that center hole? Knocking out the stud, welding a nut on the bottom flange, and a bolt through the top after a couple minutes of grinding?
I did mine an easier way - I get to the 3 nuts from below, and can leave the turbo on if I want. It also spools really quick, since its divided almost to the turbo inlet. WG tube wasn't installed when pic was taken: http://img521.imageshack.us/img521/8...phant02ha9.jpg BTW yours looks like a metal dildo. And you groped it. :l |

Re: Home depot Sinklog mani
Crankcase breather hole, HMT style. Actually the previous owner thought 9k on a stock motor was a good idea. Whats funny is the 1/4" homemade flange remained perfectly flat.

nice

hmm mine was divided all the way to the turbo
|
definitely hmt. i did that with a tiny ihi turbo. it was so small even with that big manifold it made full 10 psi by 2000rpm. lol
|
Jesus Christ my eyes.....They burn.....
