well the new header is ready for testing. I got it done the other day and I like the way it turned out.

here are some pics:

This is the new design that I made the other day.

Its p/s compatible, but NOT a/c and will NOT work with full size radiator. But is sure looks cool and it should make good power.

Again its a 4-1 but the ground cleareance is verry good. Its just about 1/4" lower than the oil pan.

Dang, I bet you have some serious man hrs into it. Looks pretty sweet, the only problem is I dont see a t4 flange on it :6

I assume this is for a customer car? You guys should try it out on Chris's sweet ride and see what it does compared to his header. :y

I have two days of work into it. One day of cut and tack and the other welding it up.

Its actually for my wife's civic with a b18c1.

I wanted to try it on Chris's car, but at the moment its not working (time for rebuild after it got stolen and they ran 89 octane in it for who know's how long :(

that one is a Burn's Stainless collector, that I used to mock up this header. the collector im going to use is going to have a slight 45* bend at the end and then a 2.5" pipe under the oil pan.

Damn...that is sexy. Ever consider making another one to sell? ;D If it makes some decent gains I'd like to talk to you about perhaps making another one for my all-motor slowness ls/vtec, if you'd want to that is. :l

hot. if only you could have popped in some anti reversion chambers!

Re: header

does that not create to much backpressure were the 4-1 comes into the small port... i see that it expsands back out... but its just looks kinda small... or is that better... i know running n/a you need some back pressure but that looks like a lil much... just curious

Its steped from 1.75" to 1.88" so that acts like an anti reversion.

the collector size was taking in cosideration when it was made for the size of the engine and cam profile. So no it does not create too much backpressure. The whole idea behind the megaphone and reverse cone is to prevent overscavenging at cams overlap at low rpms.

Did you already dyno with this header or a diff one? Theirs a 200whp stock block GSR graph in your HT thead but wasnt sure if it was the same header

Re: header

i noticed the small amount of welds near the flange.....are you compensating for the heat thats being put into that by doing it that way........if not you should cause that flange will pull into an arch....you know what i mean....so make sure you do them in sequence.....and let them cool....you dont want that to warp that ---- would suck

that was the first one I built for my wife's car. its just a classic 4-1, but equal lenght with a megaphone. That one was dynoed vs a 4-1 dc sports with a 2.5" collector.

the red graph is the Dc 4-1 tuned at a a/f ratio of 13.5:1
the blue graph is my 4-1 that was not tuned yet, just bolted on and changed the vtec point from 4600 to 6400 rpm's

im not done welding. I always weld the runners to the flange while its bolted to the head, that way it won't warp the flange. It will also be welded inside and out at the flange.
