Good welder to start?
Lincoln mig pak 140
bought this summer, (with receipt, 3 years warranty)
complete kit
425$us (or 500$ can)
seller said it was use once, but got something a lot bigger (230volt instead)
for me it's mostly charge pipe, downpipe and small thing like that arounfd the house.
Should i consider that?

Re: Good welder to start?
Not a bad little welder for all of the items you mentioned. Those have a low duty cycle and the amp rating is bullshit but it will do well in short use situations. I have a Lincoln 135 and its great for exhaust and thin stuff.

Go and get a set of oxy/accyl torch set and learn how to use them. It will produce much better looking results when used properly and you will be miles ahead when it comes time to switch to a different process.
