Going to be buying TIG so help a nig out
I'm going to be picking up a HF TIG/ARC welder in a day or so and just making sure I have everything that is gonna be needed.
-Harbor Freight TIG/ARC unit (200)
-install 220V outlet(that'd will come Friday with help from my stepfather) Free besides
cable and outlets and plugs. I'm guessing $30-40ish
-hosing to connect welding unit to regulator $10
-Regulator argon/CO2 $34
-tank $120-140ish from where my stepfather bought his tank and they fill it for free when you buy a tank
-some 1/16 EWTH-2 TUNGSTEN ELECTRODES to pratice with $12
Everything together should run me roughly around 400 to be completely ready to weld this weekend. Anything you see that I'm missing? I'm pretty sure this is everything but I've been rollin' with the gangsta Fluxcore for a couple of years now and thing I deserve a upgrade and will be going to school after my wife is done with college in a year for metal fabrication for just a technical diploma. Any suggestions or anything? I know it's not the greatest unit but I can't really shell out 4-500 bones I see the Smiley units going for on ebay or the Thermal ARC dragster or the Chiry/Mitec units are all around the 400 mark. I would like to have the plasma option but I can't squeeze blood from a turnip as my mom would say. :P

Re: Going to be buying TIG so help a nig out
Got the basic stuff cause I weld right now. Just no gas hookups since I like the fluxcore moneyshot look. So Dave what do you suggest. I know it's a strike start but I'm on like a budget and it doesn't have to be a baller setup. Just to get me TIG'in for the time being. I've got 1800 bones coming tomorrow but I've got 3 cars and the TIG setup to split that up with.
-The Z
-finish the turbo setup need about 500
The 86
-Paint job 250
-rims and tires install 350
-basic bolt ons 300
TIG setup $400

It's a brand name but there's like just one model that like 3 different companies put their names on. I think Mitech and Chiny are the other two brand names. I did a search for TIG welder and looked through all of 345 listings and there was just the Chiny that I bid on that the reserve wasn't even met yet for 200 and all of the Smiley units were at like 500 to start off with. I really want the plasma cutter option though.

Hey man, not trying to jack your thread or anything, but I've got the Smiley unit coming in the mail either Thurs or Fri and I had the same questions about what all I need to add to it to be ready to weld?
Could anyone throw out some average pricing or anything?
Also, I've never used a plasma cutter before, but I'm really looking forward to using this- could someone throw me out some tips on how this works?
I appreciate the help.
