fin would strengthen the oil pan also, if you were to scrape it.
no doubt an oil cooler would be more effective, but if you have a free afternoon and you were going to change your oil any way why not do it.
it would look rad
help dissapate heat
i can't see it taking more than 3-4 hours and cost much if you have spare aluminum lying around to do everything.

Notice the pan is made out of aluminum for maximum heat transfer. Steel pans don't tend to transfer heat too well.

i'd personally be kind of afraid to run an aluminum pan on a lowered car, esp where I live. Knoxville roads are potty as ----.

not true, i saw an rsx type S with an aluminum oil pan today, although i think it was an 04 model

i big improvement would be this http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku stock pan but in aluminum with a baffle and bungs

they also have a 5.5qt version...
